Flowing from our slogan "Empowering people through enterprise" our mission is as follows -
Enterprise Mentoring aims to provide client-centred training and support mechanisms to enable people with a disadvatage to unlock their full potential through starting business or social enterprises.
In particular, Enterprise Mentoring seeks to become an innovative and world-class cebtre of excellence in the area of disabled entrepreneurship. By providing effective training and support we will help individuals overcome existing barriers.
The staff of Enterprise Mentoring probably have more experience than anyone else in Scotland assiting people with disabilities/ill health into self employment. Their work on various programmes gives them a proven track record, proving the effectiveness of their approach.
Key Individuals
David Williamson - Managing Director
As an individual with dyslexia, David has experienced discrimination and barriers throughout his life. This appreciation of how individuals with disabilities can be "disabled" by society has underpinned his passion for creating better life chances for other people having disadvantages whatever they may be. Having run a number of successful businesses, David has also worked for much of the past twenty years in the field of economic development. David is also involved with various fundraising or "not-for-profit" projects, one in particular was setting up a Printmaking Studio in Chennai, India.
Peter Corry - Operations Director
Peter has an impressive business background. Having ran a paper mill, employing over 140 individuals, and has an MBA and Science degree. He also has a strong commitment to social enterprise. He serves on a number of voluntary sector committees and currently is the Chair of West Lothian Volunteer Centre and is a Trustee of Home Aid. Peter has been business advising since 2005 and has helped a number of individuals take the step to becoming their own boss.
Enterprise Mentoring is committed to disseminating knowledge and expertise to ensure that the client's recieve the support they need. We work closely with a number of organisations, including Business Gateway, NDDP providers, PSYBT, Local Regenerations Agencies, Chamber of Commerce and a number of organisations offering support service to people with disadvantages.
